Key Responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Collecting, organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing large quantities of time-series data to generate key insights leading to new innovative applications.
 - Analyzing complex and rich data, examining business problems, developing problem statements, defining metrics, and driving feasibility studies.
 - Performing data exploration tasks, extracting insights, and creating storyboards from data analysis.
 - Presenting clear and accurate root-cause analysis to data scientists and leadership.
 - Building training workflows for machine learning algorithms on tens of millions of data points and creating algorithmic solutions including data ingestion, feature engineering, model development, validation, and model deployment.
 - Leading and developing large-scale implementations of machine learning models and algorithmic solutions using rich retail data sources.
 - Reviewing model performance and identifying improvements to enhance models.
 - Collaborating with global AI teams, scientists, engineers, and business partners to identify and lead new opportunities.
 
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- At least a Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
 - At least seven (7) years of experience as a data or machine learning scientist, including undertaking advanced machine learning activities (regression, clustering, and forecasting).
 - Experience in developing and implementing analytical and data science modeling solutions using techniques such as data mining, machine learning, or text mining.
 - Proficiency in mathematical concepts, algorithms, and computational complexity.
 - Experience in participating with colleagues to deliver business value to the organization and presenting findings and reports to stakeholders.
 - Strong skills in Python, SQL, R, SAS, risk analysis, and data manipulation.
 - At least two (2) years of experience engaging with large quantities of data and solving business problems.
 
Preferred Qualifications
In lieu of the above, we will also consider candidates with:
- A Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
 - At least four (4) years of experience as a data or machine learning scientist.
 - Experience working with Hive or Hadoop, machine learning, text mining, and Spark.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:
- Strong programming skills in languages such as SQL, R, Python, Spark, C, JavaScript, Scala, Hadoop, Hive, HTML, Matlab, Java, and Command Shell programming.
 - Excellent knowledge of machine learning, probability theory, statistics, optimization theory, deep learning, data pipeline engineering, distributed systems, database architecture, linear programming, and data mining.
 - Ability to advocate for best software engineering practices and prototype individual components of data science solutions.
 - Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
