Your Role with Us
As our Health and Safety Specialist / SSHO, you'll be the cornerstone of our safety initiatives, responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing policies that exceed industry standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
 - Leading safety training sessions to ensure our team is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely.
 - Serving as the go-to expert for all health and safety inquiries, providing guidance and support to our team.
 - Developing and implementing comprehensive safety plans tailored to each project's unique needs.
 - Collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure safety protocols are integrated into every aspect of our work.
 - Investigating incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
 - Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents.
 
Projects typically last around 6 months, and as a Health and Safety Specialist, you'll work from a home office, traveling to job sites approximately 80% of the time. This role offers a unique blend of office work and on-site experience, allowing you to stay connected with our team while also being present on the projects that matter most.

Essential Qualifications

 - SSHO certification or the ability to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe.

 - A proactive approach to safety, with a keen eye for identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
 - The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
 - OSHA certification (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program).
 - Experience with safety management software and other relevant tools.
