Essential Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Holders of a regular teaching certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education can qualify as a substitute teacher
• Holders of out-of-state teacher certificates generally fulfill substitute credential requirements
• Those not holding a teaching certificate must procure a Substitute Credential valid for day-to-day teaching, not to exceed twenty (20) days in one position
• Applicants must complete the online application process and provide required documentation, including two forms of identification, copies of certificates or credentials, and proof of a negative Mantoux (TB) test dated within six months of their first date of employment
• Applicants must also undergo a criminal history background check conducted by the Criminal History Review Unit of the New Jersey Department of Education
