About the Role

We're looking for an experienced IT App Analyst to lead the charge in planning, executing, and delivering critical data solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the engineering work of various specialists on the project, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient data solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and security of data solutions through rigorous testing, monitoring, and improvement.
  • Build and deliver high-quality data architecture and pipelines to support business reporting needs.
  • Monitor data pipelines and proactively identify and resolve any performance or reliability issues.
  • Ensure data quality and reliability by implementing data validation, error handling, and data cleansing techniques.
  • Collaborate with various teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources.
  • Work closely with business clients, technical teams, and operations teams to address business requirements and deliver against high operational standards of system availability and reliability.
  • Develop and enhance software to extend system, application, or tool functionality to improve business processes and meet end-client needs.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot operational issues, perform detailed root cause analysis, and respond to ideas for enhancements.
  • Document data engineering processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain a robust knowledge base.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience providing oversight to data engineering projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Demonstrated expertise with building, developing, maintaining, and enhancing scalable database systems, including data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines alongside reporting solutions.
  • Broad AWS experience, including hands-on experience with AWS Glue, AuroraDB (MySQL) - RDS, Amazon Workmail, Amazon SES, S3, Lambda, Redshift, SQS, IAM (Client, Group, Jobs, and Permissions), VPC, and Infra configuration and related components.
  • Experience working with modern data architectures, Lambda-type models, and proficiency in writing and upgrading SQL.
  • Knowledge and experience with Open Source Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, etc.).
  • 2+ years of development experience in Python, Ruby, Scala, or other platform-related big data technology.
  • Knowledge of professional programming practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience building Reporting frameworks like QuickSight, PowerBI, or others.
  • Knowledge and experience building data warehouse reporting frameworks for Business Intelligence (any technology).
  • Experience with responsive design and UI working for data entry systems (Writeback reporting frameworks).

Preferred Qualifications

To take your application to the next level, you'll need:

  • Experience with SmartSheet or Asana or HoneyCode or Powerapp.
  • Javascript and/or React JS knowledge/experience.
  • Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Programmer, Business Intelligence Specialist, Data Scientist) with a history of controlling, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.
  • Experience building data products iteratively and integrating and managing datasets from various sources.
  • Query execution tuning skills using Unix profiling tools and SQL.
  • Experience leading large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies - Redshift, S3, EC2, Data pipeline, and other big data technologies.
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).
