About Amazon's Paid Media Examination Team
Our paid media examination team is responsible for analyzing data to optimize our paid media spend globally. We're looking for an experienced Analytics Manager to join our team and help us drive business growth through data-driven insights. As a Manager, Analytics, you will work closely with our marketing teams to identify areas of improvement and develop reporting and analysis to inform our paid media strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver reporting and insights in the space of paid media, providing actionable recommendations to drive business growth.
 - Design and lead the development of analytics, business intelligence, and data science initiatives aimed at optimizing our paid media spend and improving marketing efficiencies.
 - Collaborate with our paid media data science team and marketing teams to implement media mix models and drive business outcomes.
 - Lead ad-hoc analysis through database querying, followed by intelligent interpretation of results and the reporting and communication of recommendations that drive action.
 - Work closely with marketing, finance, and data product teams to address business challenges and track marketing and product performance using a data-driven approach.
 - Utilize tools like SQL, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Excel, and other reporting tools to create and maintain scheduled and ad-hoc reports.
 - Analyze data to identify business issues and conduct deep dives to perform root cause analysis.
 - Collaborate with stakeholders to leverage data (internal data from Amazon, as well as external data from market research and advertising agencies) and address complex business challenges by delivering meaningful insights.
 - Conceptualize and run analysis that generates insights on customer behavior and customer needs to help further develop and improve our value proposition.
 
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as data science, business, economics, information technology, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
 - Experience in the space of business intelligence, analysis, or consulting in an e-commerce environment or related field.
 - Advanced SQL experience, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize database performance.
 - Advanced experience with at least one industry-standard analysis and data visualization tool (e.g., Tableau/QuickSight/PowerBI).
 - Proficiency in Excel, with a proven track record of creating complex models and analyses.
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate:
- Experience working in a team of highly engaged individuals, with a strong passion for data analysis and insights.
 - A strong attention to detail, with the ability to deliver high-quality analysis and insights.
 - Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both business leadership and technical teams.
 - Experience with subscription-based or media content organizations, with a deep understanding of their business models and challenges.
 - Experience with and/or interest in learning more about cutting-edge data science approaches, including machine learning and predictive analytics.
 - Programming languages: knowledge of Python, with the ability to write efficient and effective code.
 - Knowledge of other programming languages, such as Java or C#, or of statistical programming languages like R or SAS.
 - Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, with the ability to leverage its capabilities to drive business insights.
