About the Role
As a Behavior Technician with Key Autism Services, you'll play a vital role in our mission to support individuals with ASD and their families. You'll work closely with our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and counseling programs in-home, helping our clients develop essential skills and behaviors. Our Accelerated Program with Paid Training is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to succeed in this role and advance your career in the field of ABA.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one (1:1) in-home Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients with ASD
- Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions to inform treatment plans
- Conduct discrete trials, implement behavior support, and treatment plans under the guidance of a BCBA Supervisor
- Collaborate with BCBA Supervisors to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy
- Respond to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain a goal-oriented approach and professionalism in all aspects of your work
- Arrive on time and be prepared for therapy sessions, ensuring a high level of quality and consistency
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's Degree or be working towards your degree in a related field (Psychology, Education, or Sociology)
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a 1:1 setting (direct ABA experience preferred, but not required)
- If no direct ABA experience, 1-2 years of experience as a Special Education Assistant, Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professional, Medical Assistant, Autism Experience, Teacher's Assistant, or ABA Tutor in a school or home setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (as you'll be required to travel between client locations)
- The ability to lift up to 35lbs and perform activities that entail fine and gross motor skills, bend, kneel, squat, sit on floor level or in a chair, or stand for periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications can enhance your application:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification (we offer assistance with certification)
- Experience using a Cognitive Behavior Intervention Plan with youth and families
- Previous experience working with individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities
