Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily instructional programs for a.m. and p.m. classes, driving superior student achievement through distance learning and in-school instruction.
  • Communicate and interface with parents/caretakers during online instruction to ensure their child's successful participation with distance learning.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with each student's IEP goals, utilizing online educational websites and programs.
  • Record daily attendance and complete required daily session notes, documenting the implementation of the daily lesson plan.
  • Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed, updating IEPs/goals and coaching parents to support their child's daily learning.
  • Prepare resources, lesson plans, and materials for students and parents who may not be able to participate during scheduled session times.
  • Monitor and document student participation in distance/in-school learning during non-scheduled face-to-face time.
  • Communicate daily progress and roadblocks to direct supervisors and/or BCBA, providing online resources and teacher office hours as needed.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field, or professional certification.
  • Experience working with students with ADHD, LD, HFA, and other related disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Math curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA).
  • Experience in assessment and report writing.
  • Experience teaching Math and Science.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and tools used in online instruction.

Location: West Hills, New York (with remote instruction opportunities)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (with occasional before and after school work hours at the discretion of Administrative staff)
