The Role: Math Instructor/Tutor

We're looking for a bright, passionate, and dedicated Math Instructor/Tutor who is not only proficient in math but also has a knack for teaching and inspiring young minds. This part-time role offers flexible hours and a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students. As a Math Instructor/Tutor at Mathnasium of Creve Coeur, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student progress, and contributing to a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional instruction and tutoring services to students, tailored to their individual needs and learning styles.
• Engage in positive and informative interactions with parents, keeping them updated on their child's progress and the value of our program.
• Become proficient in our digital educational materials and processes, ensuring seamless integration into our teaching practices.
• Teach using the Mathnasium Method^®, our proprietary approach that emphasizes understanding, mastery, and love of math.
• Assess student progress throughout instructional sessions and collaborate with team members to optimize student outcomes.
• Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework, providing constructive feedback that fosters growth.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming learning environment that encourages learning and engagement.
• Assist with non-teaching tasks as needed, supporting the smooth operation of our center.

Essential Qualifications:

• A passion for math and a proven track record of success in teaching or tutoring.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong math competency, with a minimum proficiency through Algebra I.
• The ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage various responsibilities effectively.
• A willingness to learn and be trained in our proprietary Mathnasium Method^®.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in teaching or tutoring, particularly in math.
• A degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Familiarity with our Mathnasium Method^® or similar educational approaches.

Flexible Hours:

This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling. Our center is open Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with most instructors working between 2 to 5 shifts per week.

Competitive Compensation:

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $12 to $16, depending on experience and qualifications.
