About the Role

As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the opportunity to work in Waldwick, NJ schools, providing high-quality instruction and support to students. Our hybrid model allows you to choose when and where you work, giving you the flexibility to manage your schedule effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day and long-term substitute teaching services in Waldwick, NJ schools, following the lesson plans and instructions left by the regular teacher.
• Manage classroom behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
• Deliver instruction, engage students, and promote academic achievement.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents.
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and address any concerns.

Essential Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits.
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor.
• NJ Substitute Credential.
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this).
• Full COVID-19 vaccination.
• A passion for education and putting students first.
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience.
• Special education or paraprofessional experience.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
