Key Responsibilities
- IEP Development: Collaborate with families, specialists, and other educators to develop, implement, and oversee Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives tailored to each student's distinct needs and goals.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress, providing detailed reports that highlight their accomplishments, areas for growth, and strategies for continued support.
- Caseload Management: Manage a caseload of 10-15 students, ensuring each student receives individualized attention, support, and instruction that meets their unique learning needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with an onsite paraprofessional to facilitate instructional processes, provide direct student assistance, and ensure a cohesive support system.
- Communication: Maintain open, regular communication with students, families, and colleagues to ensure everyone is informed and aligned with the student's educational plan.
- Instructional Delivery: Deliver high-quality, engaging virtual instruction that meets the diverse needs of students, using a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education, technology integration, and virtual instruction.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related discipline is required.
- Certification: Must possess a valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate.
- Experience: Previous experience working with students who have diverse learning needs is highly preferred.
- Fingerprint Clearance: Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using digital tools, platforms, and software for instructional delivery, communication, and progress monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field is highly desirable.
- Additional Certifications: Possession of additional certifications or endorsements in special education, such as autism or learning disabilities, is a plus.
