Job Summary
As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams of data professionals, BI engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver performance insights across Walgreens Health. Your primary responsibilities will include directing the delivery of data and insights initiatives and projects, maintaining long-term and ad-hoc data ETL and data warehousing activities, and developing layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analytics projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the delivery of Walgreens Health data and insights initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements.
- Uphold long-term and ad-hoc data ETL and data warehousing activities to meet Walgreens Health reporting and analytics needs.
- Plan, design, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analytics projects.
- Develop data governance and pre-processing standards for populating valid and actual data models attached to report-specific working tables for both enterprise business intelligence and pre-defined reporting solutions.
- Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal Walgreens production system sources and third-party files.
- Perform data profiling and data analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets.
- Develop internal tools for automation of all development-related activities, including data processing, QA, data validation, and more.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration).
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to business decisions in the workplace.
- At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
- Proficiency in writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts.
- Experience designing and deploying interactively isolated data environments using ETL/ELT services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Experience providing thought leadership and introducing tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Looker).
Preferred Qualifications
- Data Management Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) certification.
- Knowledge of pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts.
