Position Summary
As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will be responsible for supporting the Pharmacy Department's distribution process, including dispensing medical prescriptions, receiving and storing incoming supplies, and verifying stock to maintain inventory records. You will work closely with our team of licensed pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of medications to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports all departmental distribution processes, including delivery, routine, and stats, cassette filling
- Handles pharmaceutical waste safely and is knowledgeable about the storage, dispensing, and safe disposal of hazardous medications
- Orders medications and supplies on an as-needed basis from wholesalers and Materials Services
- Under the supervision of a licensed RPh, assembles and prepares IV medications, labels medications, and uses technology to ensure the safest product possible
- Prepares reports of anesthesia reconciliation of controlled substances
- Sorts out anesthesia controlled substance returns and reviews anesthesia controlled substance records
- Adheres to all department policies related to the above assignments or any other aspect of service
- Conducts medication station reviews, including expiration date checks
- Refills automated dispensing cabinets and delivers medication to patient care areas
- Performs stock-related tasks, including unpacking orders and checking inventories
- Assists in inventory control, including checking expiration dates, maintaining drug stocks, and placing orders with drug wholesalers and other suppliers
- Packages medications using automated technologies and fills unit dose cassettes under the direction of a licensed pharmacist
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Registered and certified pharmacy technician through the State of New York
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician Program
- 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- PTCB certification
- Fluent in Spanish
Skills and Competencies:

- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures
- Ability to lift and move medications and supplies

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $58,649.11 - $63,794.55 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
