Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified Junior High School Technology Teacher to teach students in grades 6-8. The successful candidate will have a strong background in technology and education, and will be able to design and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and education, and will be committed to helping students develop essential skills for success in the digital age.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare engaging lesson plans that integrate technology into the curriculum
- Teach students in grades 6-8 about technology concepts, including computer hardware, software, and programming
- Develop and implement assessments to measure student learning and progress
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to integrate technology into the curriculum and enhance student learning
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and developments, and incorporate these into the curriculum
Essential Qualifications
- A valid/registered Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with proper endorsement(s)
- Recent teaching experience in the subject matter (with the exception of new graduates)
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods, and current teaching techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, team members, and others
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Education, or related field
- Experience with technology integration and curriculum development
- Knowledge of educational technology tools and platforms
- Experience working with diverse learners, including students with special needs
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of technology concepts, including computer hardware, software, and programming
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
