Job Summary
As an Undergraduate Student Research Assistant, you will work up to 20 hours per week supporting Ph.D. students in advancing their ongoing research projects in the Department of Reinforced Concrete Design. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your research skills, work collaboratively with faculty and peers, and contribute to the academic environment at Stevens.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Ph.D. students with their research projects, including data collection, data analysis, and literature reviews
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of research studies
- Collaborate with faculty members and peers to advance research projects
- Develop and maintain organized records of research progress and findings
- Participate in research team meetings and contribute to discussions
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines when working in laboratories or other research settings
Essential Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at Stevens Institute of Technology
- Strong academic record and research experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Research experience in a related field (e.g., civil engineering, materials science)
- Familiarity with research software and tools (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB)
- Experience with data analysis and statistical software
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete design principles and practices
