About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Scheduler/Secretary to join our team at the HPB Women's Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our scheduling function, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to the overall success of our Women's Health Services department. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduling functions in a streamlined environment, utilizing computerized systems to identify patient needs and schedule rooms and equipment accordingly.
  • Enter various data into computer systems, verify accuracy, and correct errors as necessary.
  • Print reports and maintain accurate records to ensure seamless communication and coordination between healthcare teams.
  • Apply medical terminology and procedural information to schedule appointments and procedures efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and communication, addressing patient concerns and needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.

Essential Qualifications

  • One (1) year of previous medical-related clerical or related experience or an associate's degree.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, healthcare teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Fundamental knowledge and skill in the utilization of computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Typing requirements vary by department; see requisition for requirements.
  • CPR certification may be required by department; see requisition for requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of previous experience in admissions or a scheduling environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve complex issues.
  • Proficient in computerized input of data, with experience in scheduling software and systems.
