Job Summary
As a Security Accreditation Specialist - Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), you will provide critical support for enterprise network security initiatives, authorization, and accreditation efforts. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and tracking projects in the accreditation process, developing and reviewing required project artifacts, and providing status reports on all accreditation efforts. You will work closely with stakeholders to advise and assist with the Lifecycle Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process and develop Systems Security Plans (SSPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) support for enterprise network security initiatives
- Monitor and track projects in the accreditation process, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop and review all required project artifacts during the A&A process, including Systems Security Plans (SSPs) and risk assessments
- Provide status reports on all A&A efforts to stakeholders and the Accreditation Authority
- Assemble and submit documentation for A&A packages to the Accreditation Authority
- Coordinate A&A actions and system testing with appropriate security personnel
- Develop risk assessments, recommend mitigating countermeasures, and write concise risk assessment and certification reports for submission to the Chief Information Officer
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the ICD-503 Directive for IC Information Technology Systems Security Risk Management, Certification, and Accreditation
- Understanding of continuous monitoring and its relevance to the A&A process
- Understanding of Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMS) and its relevance to the A&A process
- Understanding of risk management methodology
- TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph clearance required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) or similar role
- Familiarity with Lifecycle Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process and Systems Security Plans (SSPs)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
