Job Overview

This internship program offers a minimum commitment of 8 weeks during the Summer 2025 Season, providing practical exposure to various engineering activities with the support of our senior staff. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills, work on cutting-edge projects, and contribute to the design, construction, and testing of submarines. Key Responsibilities

As a Waterfront Engineering Fast Attack Submarines Construction and Testing - 2025 Engineering Summer Intern, you may be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Providing troubleshooting support on submarines
  • Investigating and documenting technical responses to non-conformances
  • Supporting emergent issue problem resolution
  • Resolving supplier product issues
  • Modifying technical manuals and publications
  • Performing calculations
  • Communicating with Navy customers via technical submittals
  • Investigating and documenting design changes
  • Submitting test procedure modifications
  • Participating in ship testing
  • Preparing for and executing maintenance and modernization availabilities

Essential Qualifications

To be qualified for this position, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be a US citizen
  • Be able to successfully pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check
  • Be enrolled full-time at a college or university
  • Have completed your Freshman year prior to the start of the internship
  • Be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum of eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2025 to September 2025
  • Be pursuing a Bachelor or Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Marine Engineering
