Job Summary

As a Customs Brokerage Representative III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of international shipments through the customs clearance process. You will utilize your advanced knowledge of entry writing and classification according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS) to prepare customs entries and participate in government agencies clearances (PGA), Code of Regulations, and Customs regulations. This is a remote opportunity, and you must live within 50 miles of Aiken, SC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare customs entries and forward freight to designated locations, including interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.
  • Follow-up on the clearance process for all entries prepared, and communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors.
  • Coordinate freight delivery to designated locations, and resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues.
  • Scan entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis using various software packages and databases.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships, and conduct internal audits to provide findings to management.
  • Work a weekend schedule on a department rotation basis and holiday schedule based on the needs of the operation and account requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or International equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working for a Customs Broker.
  • Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws and regulations, and other government departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Accurate and rapid data entry skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customers Broker License.
  • Experience with automated brokerage systems and trade compliance software.
