About the Role

The Global Client General Manager is a key position at Amex GBT, reporting to the Director of Client Management. As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for leading the execution of our client servicing strategy for a portfolio of accounts. You will work closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners to drive business growth, optimize operations, and deliver exceptional value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions to drive business success.
  • Lead the execution of client servicing strategies, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, sales, and marketing teams, to drive business growth and optimize operations.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans, setting clear goals and objectives for client relationships.
  • Lead annual and quarterly global business reviews, providing insights and recommendations to drive business success.
  • Navigate internal stakeholders to drive value for clients, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution.
  • Support the enhancement of the American Express value proposition, leveraging technology and online servicing solutions to drive client satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify risks to the partnership, developing action plans and mitigating actions to ensure business continuity.
  • Influence key client decision-makers through effective communication and strategic guidance.

We're looking for a highly experienced and strategic leader with a proven track record in client management and the travel industry. The ideal candidate will possess:

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of global account/client management experience in the travel industry.
  • Extensive customer/client facing experience globally.
  • Strong business and financial competence, with a proven ability to drive results and achieve targets.
  • Deep industry knowledge across suppliers, technology, servicing, and multi-market awareness.
  • Excellent influencing and consultative skills, with the ability to drive change and achieve mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Adept at learning new technology and navigating complex systems.
  • Strategic account planning experience, with a focus on analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to handle objections and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Proven executive-level presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the banking or finance industry.
  • Familiarity with travel industry trends, innovations, and standard processes.
  • Experience with data analysis and insights, with the ability to drive business decisions.
  • Certifications or training in client management, sales, or marketing.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including:

  • A base salary range of $70,000 to $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Annual Incentive Award plan, which rewards participants based on company and individual performance.
