Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development and Execution
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute communications materials and strategies.
- Proactively engage with internal and external partners to meet objectives.
- Utilize technical expertise and knowledge of successful campaigns to inform content and messaging.
- Communications Strategy Setting and Planning
- Develop comprehensive communications strategies to support overall business objectives.
- Define and execute policies to ensure consistency of voice across messages and channels.
- Participate in business planning discussions as needed.
- Storytelling and Messaging
- Create storytelling opportunities by leveraging data and insights.
- Collaborate across teams to develop narratives that drive positive perceptions of Microsoft.
- Determine the format of stories and ensure conversion of content and audience across narratives.
- Execution of Communications Strategy
- Develop asset materials (e.g., decks, posts, pitches) for use in specific communications campaigns and events.
- Create cause-and-effect connections to ensure content is consistent across channels.
- Understand audience needs and adjust communications strategies accordingly.
- Partner Management
- Identify required content and develop materials to support instruction, guidance, and coaching for internal partners, customers, and stakeholders.
- Develop expertise in partner groups and individuals, and leverage that understanding in task execution.
- Establish, refine, and manage expectations and priorities.
- Reputation Management
- Identify potential opportunities to enhance reputation and visibility, and develop content accordingly.
- Recognize and take action to address potential reputation risk issues.
- Develop content to mitigate risks and serve as a trusted advisor within Microsoft.
- Drive and Monitor Messaging and Impact
- Monitor, track, and analyze the impact of and reactions to messaging for a given issue.
- Create responsive materials on a case-by-case basis and engage with others in responsive efforts.
- Leverage insights to inform data-driven proactive strategies.
- Specialty Responsibilities
- Partner with and coach others on the overall communications strategy for executive leaders.
- Develop and execute strategies for internal and external events, including support, accounts, and production.
- Drive the development of current and relevant formats and materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Advertising, Communications, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Activities, Program Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, client, and/or government security screening requirements.
- Pass the Microsoft Cloud Personal investigation upon hire/move and at regular intervals thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Advertising, Communications, Finance, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Activities, Program Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience supporting senior leaders in an executive communications role.
- 4+ years of experience working with social media platforms.
- 4+ years of experience working in technology.
