Job Summary
The Director of College P-16 Initiatives will provide leadership and direction for the Dual Credit program in the Southwest region, fostering positive collaboration with high school principals at area Independent School Districts (ISDs). This role involves working closely with various HCC instructional and student services areas to support enrollment, registration, certification, and records processes at the college level. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and a collaborative leader who is passionate about student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Dual Credit program through positive collaboration with high school principals at area ISDs, ensuring successful implementation of recruitment plans for faculty and students.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the Dual Credit program, promoting HCC's offerings to prospective students and faculty.
- Oversee the operational budget, ensuring effective management of resources and financial planning.
- Coordinate special events involving the community, college educators, and high school participants, fostering partnerships and promoting student success.
- Present orientation sessions for college faculty, ISD counselors, and high school students, ensuring a smooth transition for dual credit students.
- Direct the college course schedule for each semester, ensuring alignment with HCC's academic goals and objectives.
- Oversee the offering of dual credit off-site courses, ensuring quality instruction and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other HCC instructional and student services areas to provide support for enrollment, registration, certification, and records processes.
- Assist the District-wide Director of P-16 initiatives in sustaining and monitoring Early College High Schools.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A Master's degree from an accredited institution in academics or counseling.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a college environment in student services and/or teaching.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Programs, Information Management Systems, Budget Management, Education Systems, Texas Statutes, and TEA/THECB Guidelines.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel between HCC and partner locations.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working with Dual Credit programs and Early College High Schools.
- Knowledge of best practices in student success, retention, and completion.
- Experience with budget development and management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
