Job Overview and Key Responsibilities
In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our industrial equipment, including mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic systems. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating equipment, as well as completing preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on a wide range of machinery, including motors, controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), robotic systems, pneumatic systems, and industrial ovens.
As a skilled Industrial Equipment Technician, you will work collaboratively with our team to maintain machinery, meet maintenance requirements, and minimize downtime. Your responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing programmable controllers and computer process controls
- Conducting repairs to maximize reliability and efficiency
- Utilizing CMMS to document corrective and preventive maintenance performed throughout the shift
- Adjusting functional parts of devices and controllers using hand tools and electronic test equipment
- Fabricating repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
- Maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories
- Maintaining technical knowledge through educational workshops, cross-training, and reviewing technical publications
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Practicing safety-conscience behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following minimum qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of experience in an industrial maintenance repair and support role or equivalent experience
- A 2-year technical degree
- Experience with industrial AC/DC controls, high and low voltage systems
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repair of electrical circuits, including motors and variable frequency drives
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience with some programming experience in Allen Bradly PLC5, SLC 500, SLC 5000, Micro Logix, and Direct Logix systems
- Good mechanical ability with above-average problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a variety of environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding customer service skills
- The ability to read and write at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, procedural manuals, blueprints, etc. with no assistance
- The ability to work without close supervisory direction and to complete the job without assignment of tasks
- Achievement of the status of a "Qualified Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technician" in Department 589 by successfully demonstrating proficiency on a minimum of 2 maintenance lines
- Physical ability to lift at least 70 pounds
- Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Consistent prioritization of safety and security of self, others, and personal data

Preferred Qualifications

- A 2-year degree apprenticeship in a related field or industrial electrical
- Previous Industrial Maintenance experience
- Comprehensive understanding of Ohm's law, electrical theory, and associated principles, AC/DC motors and controls, PLC, and multimeter
- Reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and specifications
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as a clear aptitude for tablet and mobile device usage
