About the Project

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) digital service team is embarking on an exciting project to redevelop our website, and we need a skilled Web Content Architect to help us achieve our goals. The project involves migrating approximately 80 Drupal websites to a new code base and design, and we are looking for someone with a strong background in web content management systems, Google Analytics, and SEO tools to lead the charge. The successful candidate will work closely with agency content managers to analyze data and make recommendations about retiring content, content design, and navigation.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Google / CMS Web Content Architect, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and publishing website content using common Content Management Systems
  • Identifying keywords and implementing keyword placement and SEO best practices
  • Using SEO tools to identify content to be improved
  • Capturing and conveying the interrelationship of program information and large concepts
  • Editing content to plain language, an 8th grade reading level, and for use in a chatbot
  • Writing content for chat
  • Producing Google Analytics Reports
  • Setting up Google Tag Manager
  • Working in Google Search Console to submit sitemaps and remove pages from indexing where 404 errors occur

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager
  • Experience with web Content Management Systems (CMS), including Drupal
  • Experience with Google Programmable Search and SEO Tools (i.e. SiteImprove, heat maps, Crazy Egg)
  • Demonstrated experience with managing client expectations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications include:

  • 3+ years of experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager
  • 3+ years of experience with web Content Management Systems (CMS), including Drupal
  • 3+ years of experience with Google Programmable Search and SEO Tools (i.e. SiteImprove, heat maps, Crazy Egg)
  • 2+ years of experience with Drupal and SEO Tools
