The Role: Virtual Math Teacher Tutor

We're looking for experienced Math Teacher Tutors to provide virtual small group instruction to algebra students in grades 8-12. As a TbT Teacher-Tutor, you will work with students across the country, using your expertise to help them succeed in math. This is a part-time, remote opportunity that offers flexible hours and a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide virtual small group instruction to algebra students in grades 8-12
• Deliver high-quality, personalized instruction that meets the needs of each student
• Use your expertise to create engaging and interactive lessons that promote student understanding
• Communicate with students, parents, and TbT staff to ensure successful tutoring sessions
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in math education

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful as a TbT Math Teacher Tutor, you will need:

Essential Qualifications

• 3+ years of Math and/or ELA lead teaching experience in a U.S., K-12, public, private, and/or charter school
• U.S. teaching credential (exceptions may be considered for retired teachers with recently lapsed credentials and classroom experience)
• Daytime availability (8am-4pm Eastern)
• Strong knowledge of math curriculum and pedagogy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching K-12 ELA and/or Math in the classroom
• Experience teaching in an online environment
• Working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom
• Experience with remediation, intervention, or small group instruction
• Experience using Microsoft Teams
• SPED or ELL teaching experience
• Dedication to advancing equity in schools
• Experience teaching Spanish Language Arts

As a TbT Math Teacher Tutor, you will have the opportunity to:

• Earn a competitive salary: $36.00 per hour of tutoring (on a prorated basis) plus a 10% bonus for light preparation (up to $44 per hour for high school math)
