About the Role: Medical Assistant - Sioux Falls Occupational Medicine

We're seeking a caring, responsible, and empathetic Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to join our team at the Stevens Center Building in Sioux Falls, SD. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting with patient care for all ages in an ambulatory setting. You'll work closely with our healthcare providers and patients to ensure a comfortable and supportive healthcare journey. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary range of $19 - $25.50 per hour, plus a $5,000 Sign On Bonus Available for Eligible Applicants!

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect subjective and objective health status data from patients or caregivers and communicate this data to healthcare providers.
  • Follow through on patient plans of care under the direction of healthcare providers.
  • Communicate healthcare providers' written instructions for care to patients or caregivers.
  • Participate in patient care across the lifespan, in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Obtain vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, observe and report patient signs or symptoms, and perform point of care testing.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
  • Be nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Hold certification (CMA) through a nationally approved certification program, such as American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or registration (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment.

For candidates not already registered as an MAIII through the North Dakota Board of Nursing, you will be granted 4 months to obtain registration. Additionally, registration on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry is required if you do not possess MAIII registration at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting.
