About the Role

We are seeking experienced math teachers to provide virtual small group instruction to middle school students (grades 6-8) across the country. As a Virtual Math Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalized instruction to students who require additional support in math. This is a part-time, online tutoring position that offers flexible hours and a competitive pay rate of $44 per hour, including a 10% bonus for light preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide virtual small group instruction to middle school students in math, using online platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom
• Develop and implement personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in math education

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should have:

• At least 3 years of math lead teaching experience in a U.S. K-12 public, private, and/or charter school
• A strong background in math education, with a deep understanding of middle school math curriculum and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Experience with online learning platforms, such as Google Classroom and Zoom, is highly desirable
• A active teaching credential or equivalent experience is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching K-12 math in the classroom, with a focus on middle school students
• Experience teaching in an online environment, with a strong understanding of how to engage and support students in a virtual setting
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and other online collaboration tools
• Experience with remediation, intervention, or small group instruction
• SPED or ELL teaching experience, with a commitment to advancing equity in schools
