We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Asset Protection Operations Coach Trainee to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for detecting, deterring, investigating, and resolving violations of company policies and criminal activities, as well as managing facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety functions, and claims and receiving procedures.

Key Responsibilities

As an Asset Protection Operations Coach Trainee, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Detecting, deterring, investigating, and resolving violations of company policies and criminal activities by investigating alleged fraud and other alleged illegal activities
  • Conducting investigations relating to the operations and policies of the company, obtaining evidence, taking statements, writing case reports, and providing courtroom testimony, as needed
  • Participating in collaborative efforts with other investigative entities to prevent and resolve criminal activities
  • Monitoring safety and risk controls within a facility by ensuring an effective safety program is in place, supervising the safety team, identifying accident trends, and developing and implementing solutions to prevent accidents
  • Managing facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety functions, and claims and receiving procedures by reviewing the application of policies, procedures, compliance guidelines, and operational controls
  • Identifying gaps in expectations versus training levels, determining training needs, and developing and delivering the training where needed
  • Managing claims and receiving operations by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed, ensuring timely processing of claims and merchandise deliveries, and maintaining necessary documentation and reporting
  • Modeling and demonstrating exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model and managing and supporting customer service initiatives
  • Driving the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, and developing and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved
  • Providing supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring of associates, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing associate recognition
  • Leading and developing teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback, communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates, and introducing and leading company change efforts

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Meet applicable state requirements to work in Asset Protection, such as minimum age, specialized training, certification, and/or licensing
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Criminal Justice, or related field
  • Certification in an asset protection-related field, such as Loss Prevention Qualified or Loss Prevention Certified
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including responsibility for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing
  • Investigative experience
