Job Summary
As a Lead Data Scientist on our Clinical AI team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying predictive models and algorithms that investigate problem spaces, identify patterns, and support decision-making processes. You will lead a team of data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, and product owners to design and implement analytics solutions that drive business growth and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Leadership: Lead data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, and product owners to design and implement analytics solutions.
• Clinical Data Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in clinical data and its application to solve healthcare problems.
• Predictive Modeling: Design, develop, validate, implement, and support predictive models and algorithms that investigate problem spaces, identify patterns, and support decision-making processes.
• Natural Language Processing: Utilize natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs) to extract insights and features from unstructured clinical data.
• Data Feature Store: Lead the development of the clinical data feature store, which aims to accelerate adoption of future use cases utilizing clinical data.
• Data Exploration: Explore, validate, interpret, and summarize large amounts of data with various types/structures using advanced statistical and mathematical approaches.
• End-to-End Analytics Solutions: Develop end-to-end analytics solutions, from developing problem statements to deploying models into production.
• Communication: Build dashboards and data visualizations to effectively communicate analysis results and support decision-making processes.
• Documentation: Create documentation of project details, like problem statements, business outcomes, data exploration, ML model details, and deployment/support instructions.
• Presentations: Develop and lead presentations and consultations to existing and prospective constituents on analytics opportunities, results, and solutions.
• Coaching: Provide technical coaching and development to data scientists.
• Team Culture: Foster a team culture of innovation and collaboration.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
• Analytics Experience: 7+ years of relevant analytics experience.
• Advanced Statistics: Experience solving analytics problems using advanced statistics, machine learning, and mathematical algorithms.
• Leadership: Experience leading analytics projects from concept to delivery by coordinating across a diverse set of stakeholders.
• NLP and LLMs: Experience using natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and Generative AI (Gen AI) to extract insights from text data.
• Google Cloud Platform: Experience using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools, including BigQuery, Vertex AI, DataProc, and Cloud Composer to implement scalable analytics solutions.
• Communication: Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas to various audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
• Healthcare Experience: Experience solving analytics problems in the healthcare domain using clinical data.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
