About the Role: Senior Engineer - Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Support

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Engineering Team within the Integrated Operations Division at blithequark. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing engineering support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. This position is not just about solving complex technical problems; it's about being a leader, a mentor, and a driving force behind the innovation that keeps blithequark at the forefront of the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training for specialists in areas of expertise, ensuring that our team remains equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
  • Serve as a guide and mentor to other engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Lead or facilitate project management or issue resolution as a team leader, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and regulatory specialists to validate engineering practices according to relevant guidelines and company manuals.
  • Develop customized procedures and special instructions for repairs, modifications, inspections, and other maintenance activities that are not adequately addressed in existing manuals.
  • Stay informed about daily carrier operations within areas of liability, reviewing daily needs according to aircraft/departmental targets and management mandates.
  • Investigate aircraft/part issues that may cause delays or cancellations, significant expenses in labor or materials, or breaks in maintenance activities, and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide engineering support as needed to attitude of discrepant conditions affecting aircraft or parts to restore serviceable status.
  • Respond to requests from Maintenance and other carrier divisions when technical support is needed to facilitate operations or resolve issues.
  • Create work plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or part engineering tasks and follow detailed attitudes as per assessed needs.
  • Coordinate with other aircraft divisions as needed to facilitate effective and efficient execution of engineering practices.
  • Prepare Engineering documents to implement technical practices by providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and forthcoming regulations that affect areas of responsibility and ensure that all Engineering activities maintain compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize available resources to increase levels of technical expertise and practical experience regularly.
  • Actively engage with frontline colleagues and management alike, promoting a culture of inclusivity and collaboration.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or related Engineering license.
  • At least 1 year of engineering experience in a connected field (or 2 years of experience without a degree).
  • A&P license, demonstrating your technical competence in aircraft maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • The ability to analyze technical data and make informed decisions.
  • Flexibility, capacity, and willingness to take on new roles and responsibilities.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations that promote acceptance of solutions.
  • The capacity to connect with internal and external clients effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees or certifications in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment within the aviation industry.
  • A proven track record of leadership and mentorship.
