Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Medical Care: Provide thorough assessments, medication management, and ongoing health monitoring for patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.
- 24/7 On-Call Support: Be available to address medical emergencies and provide consultations, offering guidance and reassurance to patients and staff alike.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with therapists, counselors, and other professionals to ensure seamless, effective patient care, promoting a culture of cooperation and mutual respect.
- Medical Protocol Development: Assist in the creation and implementation of medical protocols and policies, driving quality improvement initiatives and enhancing treatment outcomes.
- Staff Education: Educate staff on relevant medical topics, focusing on substance use disorders and medication management strategies, to promote a culture of continuous learning.
- Quality Improvement: Engage in critical incident reviews and other quality assurance activities, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of patient care and organizational excellence.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you'll need:
For Physicians:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of an emergency medicine or primary care residency.
- Board certification in emergency medicine or primary care.
- Experience working with adolescents facing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or addiction medicine (preferred).
For Nurse Practitioners:
- RN degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- FNP-BC, PNP-BC, or ENP-BC certification.
- Prescriptive Authority licensure in Colorado.
- DEA certificate.
- Experience working with adolescents facing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or addiction medicine.
Core Competencies:
- Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating substance use disorders.
- Exceptional ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of medical protocols and procedures related to substance use disorders.
