Job Summary
The Student Employee, Level 1 - Front Desk Receptionist will provide front desk clerical and reception support to the NSHE, Las Vegas System Administration, Chancellor's Office. This role is the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff, and is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, answering phones, greeting and assisting office visitors, and running office errands. The ideal candidate will be dependable, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to resolve issues and work with employees and customers from a variety of backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, students, and staff
 - Answer and direct phone calls, respond to emails, and manage correspondence
 - Greet and assist office visitors, provide information, and direct them to the appropriate personnel
 - Run office errands, perform administrative tasks, and maintain the front desk area
 - Provide administrative support to office staff, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as needed
 - Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
 - Work independently, take initiative, and seek help when needed
 - Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
 
Essential Qualifications
- Current student at any NSHE institution in Las Vegas with a minimum of 6 credits per semester
 - Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be reliable
 - Strong communication and customer service skills
 - Competent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
 - Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about NSHE governance
 - Strong customer service and writing skills
 - Some knowledge or experience with office management and event organization

To excel in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organized, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
