Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Communications Strategy and Planning Manager to join our team on a remote basis. As a key member of our Corporate Communications team, you will work closely with Human Resources and Corporate Communications to develop and execute recruitment communications plans and strategies. This is a Chicago-based, hybrid position that will require you to be in the office on average 2-3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison and spokesperson with the communications group on behalf of Talent Acquisition to assist in creating integrated communications strategies for United's recruiting efforts
- Develop and implement long-term communications strategies to support United's recruiting efforts
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Operational leaders to identify recruitment priorities across the enterprise
- Work closely with other members of Corporate Communications and Marketing to develop strategies to support the company's recruitment efforts
- Manage and develop Aviate Academy communications to support continued interest from potential students
- Review results and work with team members to identify innovative opportunities to promote United
- Provide guidance and training to all levels of HR leadership, including senior leaders, on best practices for communication strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the organization to ensure the company's approach to subjects such as safety, health, and wellness are properly addressed and supported by the communications team
- Help establish seamless support in terms of employee storytelling, social media coverage, press coverage, photography, and event management for special events
What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in Communications or a related field
- Ability to develop messaging and incorporate communications plans and strategies
- Expertise in the evolving communications landscape
- Demonstrated track record of managing successful, proactive, and innovative campaigns that utilize a variety of tools, channels, and media
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Strong business writing and editing skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, counseling, and training skills
- Agility, adaptability, and ability to manage up
- Comfortable working with all levels within the organization and able to adapt tone and style accordingly
- Forward-thinking, diligent, and innovative
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any corporation without sponsorship
