Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant with 5-8 years of accounting experience, including 2-5 years of experience accounting for federal dollars. As an Accountant with Workwarp, you will be responsible for reviewing, reconciling, and processing financial transactions, as well as providing technical advice on accounting and fiscal matters. This is a unique opportunity to join a federal team and contribute to the success of our organization while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews, reconciles, and processes financial transactions, including receivables, advances, suspense, undelivered orders, payables, and fixed assets
 - Researches and resolves reconciliation inquiries, identifying and correcting errors as needed
 - Prepares and maintains financial reports, including monthly reconciliations and accounting statements
 - Analyzes financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
 - Provides technical advice on accounting and fiscal matters, including internal controls and budget management
 - Develops and implements accounting procedures and systems to ensure compliance with federal regulations and accounting standards
 - Reviews and recommends payments, including invoices, claims, and other requests for payment
 - Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, and financial transaction documents
 - Validates financial data using well-established accounting principles and practices
 
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 24 credit hours in Accounting and a GPA of 3.0 or higher (unofficial college transcripts required)
 - 5-8 years of accounting experience, including 2-5 years of experience accounting for federal dollars
 - Professional knowledge of accounting theories, practices, methods, and techniques
 - Knowledge of business and accounting practices, policies, regulations, and procedures
 - Ability to deal tactfully with other employees and convey information relating to accounting processes and issues
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated accounting and budget systems
 - Knowledge of federal accounting standards and regulations
 - Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
 - Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
