We're a loving family seeking a trustworthy, fun, and experienced caregiver to provide after-school care for our three boys, one of whom has developmental disabilities. About Us
Located in the Cherrywood Neighborhood off Mineral Point Road in the Town of Middleton (Verona mailing address), our family is committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for our children to grow and thrive. We're looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about working with children, especially those with special needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide after-school care for our three boys (1st grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-5:30 or 6:00 p.m.
- Assist our oldest son with developmental disabilities with daily needs, including toileting and other personal care tasks.
- Engage the children in fun and educational activities, such as homework help, outdoor play, arts, and crafts.
- Take our children on outings and field trips (e.g., grocery shopping, visiting Target, Home Depot, or Menards) and make the most of these experiences.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for the children.
- Communicate effectively with us regarding daily activities, meals, and any issues that may arise.
- Be flexible and available for additional hours on non-school days, weekends, or during the summer (if desired).
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience in childcare, preferably working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs.
- CPR training or be willing to become certified.
- Reliable transportation to facilitate outings and daily activities.
- A genuine passion for working with children and making a positive impact on their lives.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Experience as a teacher, occupational therapist, speech therapist, or physical therapist.
- Background in working with children with diverse needs and abilities.
- First aid training or certification.
