As a Data Engineer at blithequark, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying data-driven solutions that support business priorities and drive growth. You will work closely with data scientists and other stakeholders to identify valuable internal and external data sources and develop scalable, repeatable, and secure data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software programs that process, store, and serve data for use by others
  • Design and develop data systems and pipelines to organize, acquire, and standardize data that facilitates generating insights and addresses reporting needs
  • Write ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) procedures, design database structures, and develop tools for real-time and offline analytic processing
  • Develop data pipelines that are scalable, repeatable, and secure
  • Troubleshoot software programs and procedures for data consistency and integrity
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility requirements
  • Effectively resolve issues and roadblocks as they arise
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to exchange semi-complex information associated with assigned activities

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in data engineering; OR a Graduate Degree in a technical discipline
  • Advanced understanding of SQL
  • Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a matrix organization to ensure high standards for service
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive the development of outcomes and discover solutions
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (in-state and out-of-state)

Preferred Qualifications

To take your application to the next level, you will ideally have:

  • Experience with REST API development
  • Experience with Azure software deployment
  • Experience in Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks using Python or Scala, App Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure Functions, Event Hubs, Event Grids, and Logic App
  • Experience in building Azure DevOPS pipelines to enable CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Iaas), and automation
