[Remote] director, labor relations campaigns (Remote-U.S.)

Starbucks is a mission-driven organization seeking a Director of Labor Relations Campaigns to lead a high-impact team focused on proactive labor relations strategy across North America. In this role, you will develop and execute labor relations campaign strategies, manage a team of Labor Relations Managers, and partner with senior leaders to ensure alignment with business goals and compliance with labor laws.
Responsibilities
• Lead with purpose through our Mission & Values, building a culture of trust, transparency, and direct engagement.
• Develop and execute national labor relations campaign strategies, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk priorities and regional business needs.
• Manage and mentor a team of Labor Relations Managers, providing strategic direction, coaching, and development.
• Partner with senior leaders and executives to assess risk, define strategy, and implement proactive and reactive labor relations plans.
• Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, assess vulnerability, and drive insights that inform campaign planning and leadership development.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to VPs and cross-functional partners, integrating labor relations perspectives into business decisions and operational planning.
• Design and oversee enterprise-wide training programs to build leadership capability in labor relations and campaign response.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies, including NLRA, ADA, FMLA, and other relevant regulations.
• Model inclusive leadership, embedding equity, diversity, and accessibility into all labor relations practices and partner experiences.
Skills
• 8+ years of progressive experience in labor relations, human resources, or employee relations, including campaign strategy and union avoidance.
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing high-performing teams with multi-functional accountabilities.
• Deep knowledge of campaigning, collective bargaining, grievance processes, contract administration, and labor law compliance.
• Proven ability to consult with senior leaders and influence business outcomes through strategic labor relations guidance.
• Strong analytical skills with experience using data to assess risk and drive decision-making.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience in high-growth or high-risk industries such as retail, logistics, or manufacturing.
