Our client is a reputable boutique corporate commercial law firm that has brought 'in-house' its employment work, previously outsourced to other law firms. They are now seeking a senior Employment Solicitor, potentially at the Senior Associate level or above, to lead their employment offering and drive their business forward. The role involves supporting employer clients across the spectrum of employment matters associated with commercial deals and transactions, with a focus on non-contentious work. The ideal candidate will have a strong cultural fit, commercial acumen, and credibility, as well as the flexibility to work in a hybrid or fully remote capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the employment offering of the firm, providing strategic advice and guidance to employer clients on a range of employment matters.
  • Support commercial deals and transactions by providing employment law expertise and advice.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and building trust.
  • Collaborate with other lawyers and teams within the firm to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in employment law and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive the firm's employment offering forward.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and help drive the growth of the firm's employment practice.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A law degree (LL.B or equivalent) and a qualifying law degree (LL.M or equivalent) or equivalent qualifications.
  • 6+ years of PQE experience as an Employment Solicitor, with a strong track record of advising employer clients on employment law matters.
  • A strong understanding of employment law, including TUPE, redundancy, and employment contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A commercial acumen and the ability to think strategically.
  • Experience working in a boutique or commercial law firm is preferred.
