The Role: HR Decision Science Engineer - Remote

As an HR Decision Science Engineer - Remote, you'll play a critical role in shaping our People Insights function. Your expertise in machine learning, data engineering, and analytics will help us maximize our investment in employees through complex models, data, and engineering solutions. You'll have the freedom to explore new ideas, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive business decisions with data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Deploy Machine Learning Models: Analyze, design, build, and maintain machine learning models, data pipelines, and automated insights to drive business decisions.
  • Data Engineering and Management: Build and work with large and complex data sets and measures to be used in analyses that drive business decisions.
  • Optimization and Innovation: Proactively identify opportunities and build solutions for optimization of machine learning and analytical models, forecast, and insights.
  • Analytical Infrastructure Management: Manage and sustain analytical infrastructure/platform, technologies, and solutions working across teams such as IT, Decision Scientists, and Analytics Partners.
  • Consulting and Collaboration: Consult within a team of analysts, translating analytical needs into repeatable solutions and proactively identifying emerging trends in ML, data engineering, processing, and public/external/third-party data usage and integration.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Applied Knowledge in ML Development: Applied knowledge in ML development workflow and algorithms, including choosing/developing ML algorithms, hyper-parameters, tuning, understanding bias and variance, model monitoring, and deploying ML models.
  • Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in R/Python and SQL.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience in building solutions on the cloud using AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Data Visualization and Presentation: Proficiency in data visualization/presentation skills, including the ability to simplify ML outputs, statistical concepts into simple and actionable insights.
  • Consulting and Communication: Ability to consult with non-technical teams and convert that to technical requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced ML and Data Experience: Experience in any of the following: Deep-Learning, NLP, parallel and distributed programming, HR/employee data (Workday).
  • Analytics Software: Working knowledge with analytics software such as Dataiku.
  • Leadership and Open-Source Contributions: Experience with leading and developing others, contribution to Open-Source ML/Data projects.
  • Advanced Degree: Advanced degree (Master's or above) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
