The Pharmacy Care Technician is a pivotal member of the team. This role actively engages with patients telephonically, providers in person, and community providers, pharmacies, insurance companies telephonically. The incumbent will use compassion and empathy to earn patients’ and caregivers’ trust, persistence to support and advocate for them, and excellent communication skills to build impactful relationships. Schedule: This position is full-time, Monday – Friday (business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm MST) If you reside within the state of Colorado, you will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: • Gather pertinent medication information • Document current medications in software systems • Document Pharmacist interventions in software systems • Serve as liaison between care clinicians and pharmacy team • Work collaboratively with internal and external departments • Support in administrative tasks for tracking and reporting metrics • Ability to work in a moderate to fast paced environment • Interact with patients, providers and vendors to obtain accurate medication therapy information • Support in medication adherence outreach efforts • Ability to communicate well and ask pertinent questions to get needed information • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes assessment of customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations and requirements of oversight committees such as Joint Commission and CMS that apply to pharmacy • Capability to effectively utilize pharmacy technology and computer systems to complete pharmacy tasks • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems • Demonstrate advanced verbal and written communication skills, effectively collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful project outcomes • Attention to detail and analytical processes; shows initiative in identifying process improvement opportunities • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Assists with data management and recording results for month-end reports • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications • Perform other duties and projects assigned What are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in the state of CO • 3+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician • 1+ years of customer service experience • 1+ years of experience with medical and pharmacy terminology • 1+ years of experience with medication therapeutic categories • 1+ years of experience with identifying generic name for brand name drugs and vice versa • 1+ years of experience with an understanding of indication for medication • Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office & Windows applications (including Excel) Preferred Qualifications: Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
