Job Summary

We are looking for an energetic, strategic, and highly organized Academic Tutor to instruct and support students through our After-School Digital Learning Program. As a Part-Time After School Teacher, you will play a crucial role in tutoring K-9th grade students in math, English Language Development (ELD), or English Language Arts (ELA) via a personalized online adaptive-digital curriculum. Instruction will take place remotely via Zoom, with session dates and times to be determined.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized instruction to K-9th grade students in math, ELD, or ELA through our online adaptive-digital curriculum.
  • Utilize real-time data to drive small group instruction and provide accommodations to ensure student success.
  • Engage and motivate students in a virtual classroom setting, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, embodying the social justice ideals of Cesar Chavez and the spirit of the Farmworker Movement.
  • Meet all requirements for remote instruction, including having a suitable workspace and a strong, stable WIFI connection.
  • Be available to teach the entire duration of assigned sessions.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Hold a B.A. or B.S. degree.
  • Have experience working with students in grades K-9.
  • Possess experience in teaching literacy and math, using data to inform instruction.
  • Be proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel) and Zoom.
  • Have a valid California Multiple Subject or Single Subject teaching credential (desired).
  • Meet fingerprinting and TB clearance requirements before starting.
  • Have access to a computer or laptop with video conference capabilities and a strong WIFI connection.
