About the Role: Substitute Teacher in Hoboken

We're expanding our team and have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our network in Hoboken, NJ. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools.
• Adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles, ensuring a smooth learning experience for students.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff.
• Effectively manage classroom behavior and create a conducive learning environment.
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your dedicated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and align with your preferences.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through free online training sessions, covering topics such as trauma-informed teaching and classroom management.

Essential Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits.
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor.
• NJ Substitute Credential.
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this).
• Full COVID-19 vaccination.
• A passion for education and putting students first.
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role.
• Special education experience or certification.
• Subject-specific expertise in areas like Math, Science, English, or Special Education.
