Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students in various classroom settings, assisting teachers with lesson plans, and facilitating student learning.
- Develop and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Assist with classroom management, including supervising students, monitoring behavior, and implementing behavioral interventions as needed.
- Support students with diverse needs, including those with special education requirements, English language learners, and students who require extra help.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians to ensure seamless collaboration and student success.
- Utilize technology to enhance instruction, facilitate communication, and promote student learning.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the teacher or administrator.
Requirements and Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following:
- New York State Teacher Assistant or Teacher Certification (preferred); or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents/guardians.
- Technological proficiency, with experience using digital tools and platforms to support instruction and communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and needs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant or in a related role.
- Familiarity with educational software and technology, including learning management systems and digital tools.
- Experience working with students with diverse needs, including special education and English language learners.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
