Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Systems Support Specialist to join our team on a remote basis. As a Mainframe Systems Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert support for our mainframe systems, including CICS, DB2, and ZOS. You will work a night shift schedule, which requires flexibility from 6pm to 6am, Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts. This is not a developer position, but rather a support role that requires strong technical skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert support for mainframe systems, including CICS, DB2, and ZOS
 - Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues using standard tools and methods
 - Create and alter jobs and job schedules using CA7
 - Monitor and modify HSM, and manage ICF catalogs
 - Assist in network monitoring activities
 - Work independently and as part of a team of technical and business professionals
 - Maintain composure under pressure during major network and system emergencies
 - Provide strong written and verbal communication skills
 
Essential Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in mainframe systems support
 - Thorough knowledge of CA7, CICS, DB2 BASICS, DFHSM, FTP, HMC, ISPF, JCL, JES2, NDM, NET MON, OPS MVS, SAR, TMON, TIVOLI, TPX, AFP, TSO, Visio, MVS Utilities, CLIST, and REXX
 - Base UNIX and Windows commands and structure
 - Knowledge of DB2 commands, functions, control tables, and DB2 subsystems
 - Strong CA7 skills to create and alter new and existing jobs and job schedules
 - Experience in meeting project deliverables on time with quality results
 - Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with JavaScript, AWS, and LINUX
 - Coding experience (not required)
 - Knowledge of SAN technology and distributed storage management concepts
 - Understanding of DFSMS, DFHSM, IDCAMS, VSAM, TSM, and ABARS concepts
 - Knowledge of TCP/IP, VTAM, and Network Topology
