About the Role: Daycare Cook, Food Specialist

The Daycare Cook, or Food Specialist, is a crucial member of our team, responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for our children and staff. This role is not just about cooking; it's about creating an environment that fosters health, safety, and the joy of eating together. As a Food Specialist at Tutor Time of West Chester, you'll be at the heart of our mission to make a positive impact on every child, their families, and our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the boundaries of our school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements.
• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, ensuring they are distributed to the classrooms on time.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies, ordering more when needed to ensure seamless service.
• Assist in classrooms as needed, acting as an Assistant Teacher/Floater and supporting the educational and care activities.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Previous experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
• A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations regarding food preparation and safety.
• Flexibility regarding the hours and schedule of work, ensuring our children are well cared for.

Preferred Qualifications
