Job Summary: Math Teacher/Tutor

As a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you'll play a vital role in helping students gain confidence in their math skills, develop a growth mindset, and discover the joy of learning. You'll work with students in grades K-12, teaching them off of their customized learning plans, and assisting with homework completion. Our instructors typically work 2+ days per week for 3-4 hour shifts, with a focus on afternoons after 3 pm during weekdays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach students in grades K-12 off of their customized learning plans, tailored to their individual needs and goals.
• Assist students with homework completion, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Deliver high-quality instruction, using Mathnasium's proprietary curriculum and teaching strategies.
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and motivation.
• Monitor student progress, providing feedback and adjusting instruction to meet their evolving needs.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development, staying up-to-date on best practices in math education.

Essential Qualifications:

• Strong math proficiency up to Algebra (proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is a plus).
• Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (covering material from 2nd grade and up).
• Availability for at least 2 weekday shifts, with a focus on afternoons after 3 pm.
• Clear record on state and national background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in teaching or tutoring math, particularly with students in grades K-12.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, maintaining a flexible and positive attitude.
