As a Center-Based Behavior Technician, you'll play a vital role in delivering personalized therapy sessions to our clients, working closely with our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to drive meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings, utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training to promote skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
 - Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in client's individualized treatment plan, built by our experienced BCBAs.
 - Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
 - Assist with parent and caregiver training, supporting them in implementing strategies to promote client progress.
 - Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress, as instructed by our BCBAs.
 - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment, adhering to established procedures and protocols.
 - Assist BCBAs in preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition programs.
 - Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients, reporting all critical incidents and safety concerns in a timely manner.
 
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for your RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment.
 - A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
 - Reliable transportation, with proof of driver's license and valid car insurance (in some cases).
 - The ability to physically perform the demands of the job, including getting down on the floor and standing up many times, lifting up to 50lbs, and running/moving quickly if required.
 - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to record data on a mobile device and navigate digital applications.
 - Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks in a precise manner.
 - A positive attitude, patience, and emotional control, even in challenging situations.
 - Cultural competency, with the ability to remain flexible and open-minded.
 - Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, along with a TB test (if not completed in the past year).
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, experience in the following areas can be beneficial:
- Working as a Behavioral Technician or in a related field.
 - Experience working with children with Autism or other learning disabilities.
 - Roles such as Teacher's Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide.
