Job Summary
As a Part-Time Operations Welcome Desk Office Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and staff. Your primary duties will include:
- Responding to telephones and general inquiries in the housing email inbox for our multiple welcome desk locations
 - Providing accurate and timely data entry, maintaining confidential student files, and assisting with department-wide events such as move-in, move-out, and orientations
 - Delivering exceptional customer service, answering questions, and resolving issues in a fast-paced environment
 - Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives
 - Maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail in all aspects of the job
 
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Communication
- Respond to telephones, emails, and general inquiries in a timely and professional manner
 - Provide exceptional customer service to students, parents, and staff, answering questions and resolving issues
 - Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other university staff
 
Data Entry and Record-Keeping
- Perform accurate and timely data entry, maintaining confidential student files and records
 - Ensure data is entered correctly and efficiently, meeting departmental deadlines
 - Maintain organized and up-to-date records, files, and databases
 
Event Support and Coordination
- Assist with department-wide events, such as move-in, move-out, and orientations
 - Coordinate with colleagues to ensure events are executed smoothly and efficiently
 - Provide support and assistance to students, parents, and staff during events
 
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma (or GED)
 - Two years of experience directly related to the job functions
 - Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience
 - Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
 - Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or office administration role
 - Familiarity with university policies and procedures
 - Experience with data entry software and record-keeping systems
