Public History & Digital Content Internship, Winter - Spring 2025
About the position
Responsibilities
• Assist in the conception and creation of social media and marketing content related to TPT's Minnesota Experience history documentaries
• Complete archival research, including video archives, personal collections, online assets, library archives, and others as needed
• Assist with administrative tasks such as database entry, paperwork/digital filing, and general support
• Support outreach, marketing, and community engagement needs
• Design and facilitate a presentation for funding partners outlining research work and accomplishments of the internship experience
• Participate in potential field production experience including collecting releases during field interviews and media logging
• Engage in internal networking sessions with other TPT interns and staff to gain a broader perspective of Twin Cities PBS and its work
Requirements
• Currently enrolled in a higher education program with a concentration in media, marketing, journalism, public history, or related fields
• Prior experience with video editing, preferably using Adobe Premiere Pro CC
• Strong organizational skills and time management
• Interest in archival and content research
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities
• Ability to work remotely and onsite as required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Access to reliable transportation to get to TPT offices in downtown St Paul and off-site work locations
Nice-to-haves
• Experience using social media for content creation, including vertical video (TikTok, Instagram, etc.)
• Experience and interest in Library Sciences
• Experience working in historical archives
Benefits
• Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
