Job Summary
In this role, you will serve as a single stop resource for members enrolled in blithequark benefit plans, providing support and guidance throughout their healthcare lifecycle. As a Customer Service Advocate, you will be responsible for answering inbound calls, chats, and secure messages, and assisting members with medical and pharmacy benefits, eligibility, claim resolution, dental and vision issues, and promoting healthcare literacy. You will connect members to appropriate resources, resolve complex benefit and claim issues, and provide exceptional customer service that builds trust and loyalty with our members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Listen actively and ask appropriate questions to identify specific questions or issues, and document inquiries from members regarding medical, vision, dental, pharmacy plan details, plan/program eligibility, and medical claims
- Use multiple databases, tools, and partnerships to refer and enroll members to appropriate internal specialists and programs, based on their needs
- Interpret and translate clinical/medical terminology and coding to assist members with managing costs using simple language
- Adapt to communicated changes in process, policy, and guidelines quickly at site and enterprise level
- Educate members about the fundamentals of healthcare benefits and plans
- Assist members to maximize the use of community services, support programs, and resources available
- Meet performance goals established for the position in efficiency, call quality, customer satisfaction, first call resolution, schedule adherence, and attendance
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- 1+ years of experience in a customer service environment
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work Monday - Friday during our normal business hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm and 12:30pm - 9:00pm CST, with occasional overtime as needed
Preferred qualifications include:
- 2+ years of experience in a customer service environment
- Experience in a healthcare insurance environment
- Part of blithequark Benefit Operations and Experience
Telecommuting Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to:
- Have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Have a high-speed internet connection that meets blithequark's requirements
- Be able to keep all company-sensitive documents secure

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly range for this position is $16.00 - $31.44 per hour, depending on location and experience. In addition to your salary, you will be eligible for a range of benefits, including:
