We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and organized individual to join our West Hempstead Office-based team as a full-time Project Associate. This hybrid role offers a unique blend of remote and in-office work, with a 2/3 on-office mix, providing the flexibility and work-life balance you crave.
About the Role
As a Project Associate at blithequark, you will play a vital supporting role in our Revenue Recovery Department, working closely with a team of registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing experts. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our clients receive the reimbursement they are entitled to by providing critical support in data entry, medical record retrieval, and project-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Medical Record Retrieval: Access and retrieve patient medical records from various hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Patient Itemized Bills Preparation: Generate and prepare patient itemized bills in the required formats for internal and external audits.
- Data Extraction and Entry: Extract and enter necessary information from and to hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
- Communication with Post-Acute Healthcare Facilities: Make phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain essential information on patients, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reporting and Analytics: Run and create reports as needed, utilizing your analytical skills to support the recovery team.
- Information Gathering and Data Entry: Assist with any other information gathering or data entry tasks required by the recovery team, showcasing your adaptability and willingness to learn.
- Document Management: Scan and index documents efficiently, maintaining organized and easily accessible records.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., health information management, business administration) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with ability to learn and adapt to new software applications.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy and attention to detail, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with 2/3 days of in-office work, demonstrating flexibility and self-motivation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in health information management, medical records, or a related field.
- Familiarity with hospital patient accounting systems and electronic health records (EHRs).
- Certification in health information management or a related field (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCA).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret data and generate reports.
